The kit consists of two booklets, guidelines on reaching the media, and articles and camera-ready media information materials. The materials present background information about effective programs to prevent alcohol, tobacco, and other drug abuse; lists of risk and protective factors related to drug use; data revealing the relationship between drug abuse and many of society's other programs. Individual sheets present camera-ready facts, figures, charts, and graphs regarding prevention. Others provide talking points and print advertisements to be used with the media; and suggested action steps for use by individuals and communities to take to prevent alcohol and drug problems.
