These 17 papers were presented at a 1995 conference that focused on Italian and European experiences and social policies related to juvenile delinquency, research findings on juvenile delinquency factors and prevention, and legislation and social interventions.
Abstract
An introduction notes that many cases of juvenile delinquency are not the actions of individuals. Instead, they are actions of youth acting together. The aggregation of individual acts in a model of behavior shared with many others may lead to a new delinquent culture. However, delinquency does not involve a culture that is completely distinct from one that conforms to the rules. Additional papers focus on juvenile delinquency and responses to it in Italy, Norway, Spain, and other countries. Further papers focus on the role of schools and success in school, psychological and criminological aspects of new forms of juvenile delinquency, juvenile rehabilitation, juvenile delinquency prevention, and social policies regarding youth.
