This reference guide is intended for use by parents, educators, police personnel, and others in understanding and identifying all major types of controlled drugs, including controlled prescription drugs, noncontrolled and over-the-counter drugs, and all major illicit drugs.
Abstract
Two sections of the volume focus on the identification of tablets and capsules. The section on controlled prescription drugs presents color photographs with the actual sizes of more than 700 prescription tablets and capsules that are controlled by the Drug Enforcement Administration. The section on non-controlled and over-the-counter drugs lists marking and logo information on approximately 9,000 items. Additional photographs and text describe the major illicit drugs with respect to their street names, psychophysical action, street prices, history, production, distribution, packaging, identification, methods of ingestion, effects, and pharmacology. Figures, tables, glossary of slang terms, summary of the Controlled Substances Act, tables of weight conversions and durations of detectability in urine, manufacturer list, index, and list of 43 suggested readings
