The 1995 annual report of the Missouri Department of Social Services provides an overview of the juvenile court and contains information on law violation referrals; status offense referrals; and abuse, neglect, and custody referrals.
Abstract
The juvenile court overview portion of the report provides statistics on referrals by race and gender and compares referrals over the 1991-1995 period. The data reflect referral types, referral trends, referral sources, the most common major allegations, referral dispositions, and prehearing placements. The law violation referral portion of the report looks at law violation outcomes, average prior law allegations for certain offense categories, and the age distribution of law violators. The status offense referral portion of the report contains data on status offense referral outcomes, status offense referrals by gender, and status offense placements. Finally, the abuse, neglect, and custody referral portion of the report lists referrals by category and outcome and presents data on the age range of victims. Supplemental data on juvenile court, law violation, status offense, and abuse and neglect referral outcomes by Missouri circuit and county are appended. Tables and figures
