Case-processing data are reported for Oregon's circuit courts and district courts for the second half of 1996 (July 1 - December 31, 1996).
Abstract
Circuit court data are presented by county. Tables show trends in the number of cases filed, terminated, and pending. They also address the age of pending cases, analysis of cases tried, and juvenile petitions filed. Data pertinent to the goals for timely disposition show the age of terminated cases by type of case (civil, domestic relations, felony) for the half year and full year. Data for the district courts address trends in cases filed, terminated, and pending, as well as the age of pending cases. District court data also cover the number of cases filed, terminated, and pending per authorized judicial position (trend data). The number of misdemeanor, felony, civil, and small claims cases filed, terminated, and pending per authorized judicial position are reported as well. The cases tried are analyzed, and data on goals for timely disposition are included. The latter show half-year and full-year data for the age of terminated cases by case category (civil, general; civil, summary; felony; and misdemeanor).
