Data for the Nebraska Supreme Court caseload cover both 1995 and 1996. They address new cases docketed; petitions to bypass filed, granted, and denied; cases transferred from the Court of Appeals; petitions for further review filed, granted, and denied; cases disposed by opinion; cases disposed without opinion; and total cases disposed. For the Court of Appeals, caseload data for 1995 and 1996 encompass new cases docketed, cases transferred to the Supreme Court, petitions to bypass granted, cases disposed by opinion, and total cases disposed. Judges names are listed for the district courts, the county courts, and the appellate courts. For each district court and county court, the number of 1996 cases filed by category are presented. The case categories for district court are criminal, habeas corpus, regular civil, domestic relations, and appellate action. Case categories for county courts include traffic misdemeanors, non-traffic misdemeanors, felony, civil, small claims, probate/inheritance tax, adoption, juvenile, and eminent domain. A graph shows each court's total filings from 1987 through 1996.
