Symposium participants included a wide range of Federal enforcement officials, corporation representatives, private attorneys, and consultants. Symposium presentations and discussions explored organizational guidelines on corporate crime promulgated by the U.S. Sentencing Commission, corporate experiences in developing effective compliance programs and practices, compliance standards, the role of ethics and incentives in achieving effective compliance, the experience and views of the enforcement community, when compliance practices should be protected from disclosure, and the government's role in fostering good corporate citizenship.
