Activities focus on gang prevention, an interagency approach to addressing domestic violence, the formation of the Holyoke Community Police Leadership Council, crime prevention activities, and the use of bicycle patrol. Programs include Drug Abuse Resistance Education (DARE); an after-school volunteer program for youths ages 10-18; TRIAD, a national community policing initiative involving senior citizens, law enforcement, and human service providers; the grant-funded Greater Holyoke Youth Services Corps; a gun buyback program; and Project Reclaim, which focuses on securing vacant buildings.
