TRANSCRIME is an organization established in 1994 in the School of Law in the University of Trento in Italy to analyze crime trends, evaluate crime prevention and crime control policies, and develop solutions.
Abstract
TRANSCRIME has three research coordinators, an assistant, two researchers, four research assistants, and a secretary. Current research projects focus on organized crime across the borders, money laundering and policies against money laundering in the 15 countries that are members of the European Union, international money laundering trends and policies to control it, and corruption in Europe. Additional projects focus on instruments of public and private law for the prevention and control of organized crime, methods of recovering European Union fraud assets, migration and crime, usury, and public security. TRANSCRIME is also involved in teaching, research, and cultural exchange and the publication and dissemination of research reports through the Internet and other methods.
