Abstract
One table shows categories of immigrants subject to the numerical cap (unadjusted and fiscal year 1995 limits). Data on refugees encompass the number of refugee and asylum applications filed with INS in fiscal years 1994 and 1995 and approved in fiscal year 1995 for top 10 countries of nationality, as well as the number of asylum cases filed with INS asylum officers in fiscal years 1994 and 1995. Data pertinent to enforcement of immigration laws include the number of apprehensions and expulsions in fiscal years 1921-95; total border patrol apprehensions in fiscal years 1994 and 1995; expulsions in fiscal years 1992-95 for top 10 INS districts; removals in fiscal years 1994 and 1995 for top 20 countries of nationality; total investigations cases completed in fiscal year 1995 for INS regions and top 15 districts; and total number of adjudications in fiscal years 1994 and 1995 for INS regions, service centers, and top 10 districts. Information is also provided on INS employees; budget for fiscal years 1994-97; and a list of INS offices, administrative centers, and detention facility locations. A chronology of immigration legislation from 1790-1990 is included as well.
