Abstract
Exercises are included to help students analyze crimes reported to or discovered by law enforcement agencies, the incidence of crime on the basis of large national samples, and self-report offense data from individuals. Other exercises are also provided that focus on analyzing crime data, fear of violence, auto theft, drug and alcohol abuse, property crime, social disorganization, burglary victims, high school and college offenders, and violent crimes. In addition, the manual contains exercises that show how to conduct multivariate analyses. Possible independent research projects, including gun control and capital punishment, and codebooks are appended.
