This 1995 Probation and Parole Directory provides information on Federal, State, and county adult and juvenile probation, parole, and aftercare systems throughout the United States as of February 1, 1995.
Abstract
The information provided in this directory is derived from the responses of 760 probation and parole offices to a three-page questionnaire sent to 1,600 offices throughout the United States. The directory includes an overview of services and listings of parole or release boards; State, county, district, and area or regional offices; independent or city/municipal offices; and State court administrators. When the information was supplied, each listing identifies parent agency, chief administrator and other key personnel, interstate compact contact, general information phone number, record information check phone number, public information officer, programs and services provided, expenditures for services, beginning salaries for personnel, generic personnel titles along with total counts, and client caseloads and average caseload per officer. The directory also contains tables of information on probation/parole officers beginning salaries, officer training and educational requirements, peace officer status and mandated use of firearms, and workload budgeting and sentencing or parole guidelines. Further, the directory shows the use of restitution, electronic monitoring, drug treatment, diversion, and job-development programs. Appended list of American Correctional Association publications and a glossary of probation and parole terms
