Prepared to help police officers know what defenses to use against street weapons, this videotape describes various types of street weapons that can be concealed in the hand or on the body.
Abstract
Police officers need to be aware of the hazards posed by street weapons, types of street weapons, how street weapons are used, and how street weapons can be concealed. More importantly, police officers need to know what defenses to use against these weapons. Scenarios are presented that involve unusual street weapons and that demonstrate improper tactics that may expose police officers to danger. Specific types of street weapons are described, for example, brass knuckles, the use of an athletic supporter as a weapon holster, keys that are filed so they have sharp edges, and jewelry with hidden blades.
