The volume covers selected issues that should be of interest to judges and others who use sentencing guidelines and includes court decisions up to June 30, 1996. Court decisions are considered in 10 chapters. The first five chapters concern general application principles associated with the sentencing guidelines; offense conduct--drug offenses, property offenses, and fraud and deceit; adjustments related to the victim, the offense, obstruction of justice, multiple counts, and acceptance of responsibility; criminal histories and career offenders; and sentence determination. The latter five chapters focus on departures in sentence computation--aggravating and mitigating circumstances, probation and supervised release violations, sentencing of organizations, sentencing procedures, and appellate review. A table of cases is included.
