This is an annual report pertaining to judicially authorized electronic surveillance.
Abstract
The report covers applications for electronic surveillance authorization in relation to offenses involving: Controlled Drugs and Substances Act; Narcotic Control Act; Food and Drugs Act; Customs Act; Excise Act; and Immigration Act. The report includes an overview of Part 6 of the Criminal Code. It also includes statistics regarding: (1) applications for authorizations and renewals, period for which they were granted and offenses specified; (2) classes of places and methods of interception; (3) legal proceedings, use of intercepted material and disposition; (4) notifications; (5) prosecutions for unlawful interceptions; and (6) unlawful disclosure.
