A forfeiture statute on automobile parts pertains to the forfeiture of a motor vehicle or part whose identification number has been removed, obliterated, tampered with, or altered. Another statute specifies the criteria for dispensing appropriations from the U.S. Department of Justice Assets Forfeiture Fund. Two statutes pertain to the use of civil procedure to obtain asset forfeiture as well as liability for a wrongful asset seizure. Statutory sections pertinent to asset forfeiture in offenses that involve contraband/conveyances address definitions, prohibitions, seizure and forfeiture, administrative procedures, the availability of certain appropriations, and relationship to other laws. Copyright infringement and remedies are the focus of another statute outlined, and criminal procedure in an order of criminal forfeiture is specified in the next statute presented.
