Length

This newsletter describes various programs that are part of a national youth anti-drug media campaign.
Abstract
The My Anti-Drug Campaign's overall goal is to communicate normative education and positive alternatives in young people's own words. It reinforces the message that drug use is not the norm among peers, it is "cool" to be drug free and there are many positive and better things to do than use drugs. The newsletter describes: (1) a multi-media initiative that asks young people to describe what it is in their lives that stands between them and drugs; (2) girl-oriented TV ads from the Partnership for a Drug-Free America; (3) involvement of young people in community service, young people who are 50 percent more likely to live healthy, drug-free lives than their uninvolved peers; (4) a program to explore the nexus between drugs and school violence; (5) teacher resources to help weave anti-drug messages into classroom lessons; (6) anti-drug messages from entertainment artists; and (7) an update of a Campaign effort to share public service announcement opportunities with organizations that promote Campaign goals.
