The Maryland Center for Missing Children (MCMC), a unit of the Maryland State Police, is one of 50 clearinghouses affiliated with the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children (NCMEC) and receives leads and sightings from the NCMEC. The MCMC operates a toll-free hotline for sightings and leads about missing and exploited children, to include incidents involving computers. The MCMC also works closely with the Missing and Exploited Children's Association and the Vanished Children's Alliance, non-profit groups dedicated to the recovery of missing children and the support of families of missing children throughout Maryland.
