This is an addendum to proposals and contributions from governments for the United Nations General Assembly Ad Hoc Committee on the Elaboration of a Convention Against Transnational Organized Crime.
Abstract
The document contains amendments and contributions to the revised draft "Protocol to Prevent, Suppress and Punish Trafficking in Persons, Especially Women and Children," supplementing the United Nations Convention Against Transnational Organized Crime. The proposals and contributions refer to (among other things) purpose, scope of application, obligation to criminalize, victim rehabilitation, assistance for and protection of victims of trafficking in persons, entry into force, status of the victim in the receiving State, seizure and confiscation of gains, repatriation of victims of trafficking in persons, law enforcement measures, border controls, prevention of trafficking in persons, and cooperation with non-States Parties. The following countries submitted proposals and contributions: Belarus, Belgium, Cameroon, China, Colombia, Holy See, India, Italy, Libyan Arab Jamahiriya, Mexico, Morocco, Netherlands, Philippines, Spain, Syrian Arab Republic, Thailand, and United States.
