This catalog briefly describes publications, videotapes, CD-ROMs, and disks on law enforcement and corrections technologies under various categories of technology or resource type.
Abstract
The catalog first provides information on the following Federal agencies that are involved in various aspects of the development, promotion, and testing of law enforcement and corrections technologies: the National Institute of Justice, the Law Enforcement and Corrections Standards and Testing Program, the National Law Enforcement and Corrections Technology Center System, and the Office of Law Enforcement Standards. The catalog then lists and describes resources under the following categories: communications, computers and software, forensics, less-than-lethal technologies, protective equipment, security equipment, surveillance and sensor equipment, vehicles and equipment, weapons and ammunition, newsletters, and "other publications." Within each category, the most recent publications (up through 2001) are listed first. The title of each resource is followed by the date of publication and a brief description of what the resource provides. Icons indicate the type of resource. Most publications are accessible through either JUSTNET or the Justice Information Center, a service of the National Criminal Justice Reference Service. Contact information is provided. A list of archived documents is presented at the end of the catalog.
