This report presents statistics on crime in Arizona during the year 1999.
Abstract
The report provided data regarding the nature and extent of crime throughout Arizona; it did not draw conclusions as to the causes of crime. The report described the Arizona Uniform Crime Reporting System, presented a summary of State crime data, and then presented data in sections concerning Index Crimes, County Offense and Supplemental Data, State Arrest Data, County Arrest Data, Agency Data, Assaults on Law Enforcement Officers, and Bias Crimes Data. During 1999, 282,667 persons were arrested - 223,979 adults and 58,688 juveniles; 77.7 percent were males, and 22.3 percent females. Part 1 offenses (criminal homicide, forcible rape, robbery, aggravated assault, burglary, larceny-theft, motor vehicle theft, and arson) accounted for 49,545 arrests and Part 2 offenses (simple assaults, forgery and counterfeiting, fraud, embezzlement, stolen property, vandalism, weapons, prostitution and commercialized vice, other sex offenses, drug abuse violations, gambling, offenses against the family or children, driving under the influence, liquor laws, disorderly conduct, vagrancy, curfew and loitering laws, and runaways) accounted for 233,122 arrests.
