Abstract
Following an executive summary of the third annual meeting of the National Conference on Women, this special preview edition of conference proceedings lists the plenary, mini-plenary, workshop and poster sessions organized by conference issues. Summaries of the plenary and mini-plenary sessions are presented in this report listed under the topics: A Multi-Cultural Look at Women Carrying the Vision Across Generations, Engaging the Faith Community in Addressing the Needs of Women and Their Families, Making the Grade on Women’s Health: A National and State-by-State Report Card, Alcohol and Medication Misuse and Abuse Among Older Women, Integrating Trauma into Mental Health Services, Addressing Trauma, Hot Topics in Research on Women’s Mental Health and Addiction to Alcohol and Other Drugs, Best Practices and Treatment of Substance Abuse and Co-occurring Disorders in Women, Welfare Reform, A Collaborative Approach to the Mental Health and Substance Abuse Treatment Needs of Women and their Families in the Child Welfare System, Bright Futures, The Next Generation, Integrating HIV Prevention, and High Quality Child Care and School Readiness.
