This flyer explains the CyberTipline, developed by the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children to help in the detection of child sexual exploitation on the Internet.
Abstract
The CyberTipline was created in order for children and their parents to quickly and easily report suspected incidents of child sexual exploitation that occur on the Internet, including activities involving the possession, manufacture, and distribution of child pornography, online enticement of children for sexual purposes, child prostitution, child sex tourism, child sexual molestation, and unsolicited obscene material sent to a child. The flyer explains how the CyberTipline works and why the Internet, while presenting unique opportunities that are in most cases lawful and beneficial to society, also creates opportunities for adults to have unauthorized and unsupervised access to children. Success stories generated by the use of the CyberTipline are shared, and information about the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children, a nonprofit organization, is offered.
