The ACC is an important provider of proactive and inclusive strategic intelligence to law enforcement and other clients across Australia. During 2003-2004, the ACC focused significant resources on the production of a range of intelligence products and continued to maintain and improve the Australian Criminal Intelligence Database (ACID), used by 8,271 members, and the Australian Law Enforcement Intelligence Net (ALEIN), used by 12,756 registered users. The ACC also made over 700 operational intelligence disseminations in 2003-2004; over half were formal disseminations of operational intelligence to partner law enforcement agencies. The ACC is a world leader in the identification and use of fraudulent identities as a result of its Australian Identity Fraud Protection Register (AIPR), which collects information on fraudulent identities and victims of identity theft from 30 law enforcement and government agencies. During 2003-2004, the ACC also produced a number of intelligence products for law enforcement partner agencies, including 3 strategic criminal assessments, 18 information bulletins, 31 intelligence assessments/reports/alerts, and 73 presentations/briefings. The ACC also produced the Illicit Drug Data Report (IDDR) to help national law enforcement, government, and stakeholders understand the illicit drug environment in Australia.
