Abstract
According to data from the 2002, 2003, and 2004 National Surveys on Drug Use and Health (NSDUH), the prevalence of methamphetamine use remained stable between 2002 and 2004. However, the number of methamphetamine users who met criteria for drug dependence or abuse increased from 164,000 past month methamphetamine users in 2002 to 346,000 past month methamphetamine users in 2004. The prevalence of methamphetamine use by demographic group is presented, along with data depicting the prevalence of methamphetamine use by State and county type. The NSDUH dataset includes the survey responses of a national sample of persons aged 12 years and older who answered questions regarding their use of illicit drugs. Figures, endnotes
