Weed and Seed successes are presented in the areas of law enforcement, community policing, prevention, neighborhood restoration, reentry, and American Indian/Alaska Native. Highlights of these stories from within the Weed and Seed sites include: (1) new technology helping the Los Angeles Police Department (LAPD) improve neighborhoods and lower crime, such as the Jordon Downs Public Housing Safety Initiative (PHSI); (2) an innovative anti-gang initiative in Binghamton, NY, (3) reentry successes in Iowa and Michigan; and (4) the National Indian Country Anti-Meth Media Campaign initiative; a partnership between the National Congress of American Indians (NCAI) and the U.S. Department of the Interior. This issue of Weed and Seed In-sites offers Weed and Seed contributors and recounts success stories. The Community Capacity Development Office (CCDO) travels throughout the United States to Weed and Seed sites that are creating healthy communities. This report highlights some of the success stories encountered during the reporting time frames, as well as identified resources.
