Abstract
ATTEMPTS TO REFUTE OR SUPPORT FREQUENT NEIGHBORHOOD FEARS THAT THE PRESENCE OF SUCH HOUSES IS DELETERIOUS TO NEIGHBORHOOD DEVELOPMENT. COMMENTS ON THE EFFECT OF HALFWAY HOUSES AS WELL AS ON THE SPECTRUM OF EXPERIENCES INVOLVED IN COMMUNITY RELATIONS ARE SUBMITTED BY RESPONDENTS.
