This collection of alcohol and other drug-related law enforcement literature, most of which was published in the years 2004 to early 2008, is intended as an information resource for police and other law enforcement officers in Australia working in a variety of settings.
Abstract
The publications are grouped in 15 subject areas as follows: alcohol law enforcement/regulation; illicit drug issues; pharmaceutical drugs; volatile substances; demographics of alcohol and other drug use; alcohol and other drug-related crime/links between drugs and crime; drink-driving; drug-driving; alcohol and other drug-related social harms; criminal justice responses, including alcohol and other drug diversion programs; alcohol and other drug problems among youth; alcohol and other drug-related crime prevention; alcohol and other drug issues in the police workplace; alcohol and other drug-related problems among indigenous people; and alcohol and other drug-related police custody issues. In addition to author(s), title, and year of publication, most of the listings include an abstract. This collection was composed through a series of systematic searches of publication databases in February and March 2008. The databases were selected in order to capture as much alcohol and other drug-related law enforcement literature as possible. Other introductory information addresses how to obtain the resources listed in this compendium and how to assess the quality and usefulness of the resources.
