In this issue of the Justice Resource Update several programs and initiatives under the U.S. Department of Justice, Office of Justice Programs (OJP) are featured. Highlights of these programs and initiatives include: (1) the National Institute of Justice (NIJ) will hold its annual conference on evidence-based practices focusing on the importance of integrating science into every facet of criminal and juvenile justice; (2) the National Missing and Unidentified Persons System (NamUs) is a free online database to assist in solving cases by making information about missing and unidentified persons easy to access and search; (3) the U.S. Department of Justice has streamlined the grant-making process for tribal communities; (4) the Coordinated Tribal Assistance Solicitation combines the U.S. Department of Justice's tribal government-specific competitive solicitations into one; (5) the continuation of OJP's systematic, agency-wide Evidence Integration Initiative, known as E21; (6) the announcement of the Attorney General's Children Exposed to Violence Initiative making funds available through six grant solicitation totally more than $5 million; and (7) OJP Grants 101 is a new tool for grant applicants providing a step-by-step tutorial on the grant process. The Update also provides a list of upcoming events sponsored by OJP such as National Police Week, Internet Crimes Against Children Conference, Sex Offender Sentencing, Monitoring, Apprehending, Registering, and Tracking (SMART) Conference, and Missing Children's Day.
