Projected adult incarceration populations at the end of each biennium are as follows: 153,638 for 2010-11; 153,425 for 2012-13; and 154,767 for 2014-15. The number of inmates in the projected population expected to exceed State operating capacity are shown for each year. The actual and projected adult parole supervision population is reported for fiscal years 2008-2015. From fiscal year 2010 to fiscal year 2015, the adult parole supervision population is expected to increase from 81,198 to 84,772. The report also indicates that the adult felony direct community supervision population will increase from 173,867 in fiscal year 2010 to 177,525 in fiscal year 2015. The adult misdemeanor direct community supervision actual and projected placements are reported for fiscal years 2005-2015. Placements for adult misdemeanor direct community supervision are projected to decline from 110,776 in fiscal year 2010 to 100,868 in fiscal year 2015. The juvenile residential actual and projected populations are reported for fiscal years 2005-2015. This population is projected to continue to decrease slightly through the beginning of fiscal year 2011. The total population of juveniles under probation supervision is projected to decrease due primarily to recent declines in adjudicated probation and supervision prior to disposition.
