This book is intended for use by policymakers, advocates, and researchers as well as for students in advanced undergraduate and graduate courses that cover violence against women, family violence, and violent crime. The book contains 18 chapters that cover the current state of research, theory, prevention, and intervention on the subject of violence against women. The chapters are divided into three main sections. Part 1 contains three chapters that address 1) Theoretical and Definitional Issues in Violence Against Women; 2) Research Methods, Measures, and Ethics; and 3) Assessing Violence Against Women in Practice Settings: Processes and Tools Practitioners Can Use.
