Abstract
This report presents statewide statistics on the work of Missouri's multijurisdictional drug task forces (MJDTF) that received funding from the State's Department of Public Safety for the period FY (fiscal year) 2010 - FY 2011 and the first half of FY 2012. The statistics are presented in tables and figures and summarized under the following categories: the number of officers involved, new cases initiated, search warrants by disposition, drug and non-drug arrests along with charges, drug purchased and seized, marijuana eradication, and number of methamphetamine labs destroyed. For the 10 quarters included in this report, the average number of full-time MJDTF officers was 255 while the average number of part-time officers was 20. The number of new cases initiated by MJDTFs ranged from a high of 2,703 in the 4th quarter of FY 2010 to a low of 1,980 in the 4th quarter of FY 2011. The total number of drug arrests during the period ranged from a high of 2,032 in the 4th quarter of FY 2011 to a low of 1,582 in the 2nd quarter of FY 2011. A majority of the arrests in both FY 2010 and FY 2011 were for possession, with marijuana, methamphetamines, and drug paraphernalia accounting for the majority of the arrests. The report also found that marijuana and methamphetamine accounted for the majority of charges associated with the sale or manufacture of drugs. In addition, the report found that the estimated value of the drugs seized increased over the 10 quarters, ranging from $4.2 million in the 2nd quarter of FY 2010 to almost $21 million in the 3rd quarter of FY 2011.
