The report presents seven types of charts that provide data on lifetime and 30-day use of alcohol, tobacco and other drugs (ATOD); binge drinking and antisocial behavior; gambling; risk profiles; protective profiles; where youth acquire alcohol, marijuana, and prescription drugs; and school safety and cyber bullying. Binge drinking is measured as having five or more drinks in a row during the two weeks prior to the survey. Risk and protective factor scales measure specific aspects of a youth's life experience that can be used to predict whether he or she will engage in problem behaviors. The scales are grouped into four domains: community, family, school, and peer/individual. In addition to data presented in the aforementioned charts and tables, three tables contain information useful for prevention planning and grant monitoring. One table contains information requested by communities with Drug Free Communalities Grants, such as the perception of the risk of ATOD use, perception of parent and peer disapproval of ATOD use, past 30-day use, and average age at first use.
