Abstract
An article on police stress management describes how one local agency used a yoga program to reduce officer stress, thus improving physical health and mental alertness. An article on reducing the demand for commercial sex discusses the merits of such an approach, strategies commonly used in the United States, and resources on best practices. An article on the U.S. Justice Department's efforts against human trafficking features the work of its Office of Justice programs. Emerging issues in the dangers of police vehicle pursuits are addressed in another article, with attention to the involvement of assisting officers and the use of deflation devices intended to slow down or render inoperable the cars of fleeing suspects. An article on the "Move Over" initiative describes the nationwide efforts of the Tennessee Highway Patrol to increase public education regarding laws that instruct civilian drivers on what they are required to do to avoid obstructing an emergency vehicle on a call. A program that targets crash-prone locations for heightened law enforcement attention in Virginia is described in one of the articles ("Drive 2 Save Lives"). Other articles make the case for collaborative responses to human trafficking, improving services to victims of sexual trafficking, and the U.S. Justice Department's technical assistance in addressing human trafficking through its Diagnostic Center.
