The Drug Court Technical Assistance/Clearinghouse Project, which is sponsored by the U.S. Justice Department's Bureau of Justice Assistance (BJA), summarizes information and statistics on drug courts by State and counties within each State.
Abstract

Overall, drug courts have been implemented or are being planned in all 50 States and the District of Columbia, as well as the Northern Marina Islands, Puerto Rico, and Guam. A total of 85 tribal drug courts have been implemented, and 12 are being planned. The data are presented State-by-State in a table with titled columns for each data category. The data column for "State" provides the State's name, total number of counties, the number of counties with drug court activity (operating or being planned), and the total number of tribal drug courts. A second column shows the number of drug courts that have been "operating over 2 years" by county for each State. A third data column indicates the number of drug courts "recently implemented" by county for each State. A fourth column presents the number of drug courts "being planned" by county for each State. A fifth column provides data on the number of "total active" drug courts in each State subdivided into the number "operating" and the number "being planned." A sixth data column shows the number of "additional drug court programs suspended/consolidated" distinguished as being in operation or being planned. The last column indicates the "age for juvenile court jurisdiction," distinguished by upper age for initial offense and the upper age for the juvenile court to have authority to impose sanctions and services (if this upper age is different from the upper age for initial offense).
