Abstract
"Unwelcome Alliance" profiles the 2019 National AMBER Alert Symposium held April 16-18 near Scottsdale, AZ. The theme for the symposium was "Child Sex Trafficking Along the Northern and Southern United States Border Regions." Participants learned about tactics being used to lure, abduct, groom, and exploit child sex trafficking victims and the need for an effective multidisciplinary response. "Faces of the AMBER Alert Network: Wisconsin" profiles the work of Jennifer Price, who oversees the Wisconsin AMBER Alert Program and serves as the Child Abduction Response Team (CART) Commander. "AMBER Alert in Indian Country - Issue 3 2019" contains short news clips on AMBER Alert and child protection issues from Indian Country. It includes a clip on the Montana Governor's signing of legislation to create a Missing and Murdered Indigenous Persons Task Force. "Amber Alert International - Issue 2 2019" presents short news clips on AMBER Alert and child protection issues from around the world. Events covered include the Netherlands becoming the first country to post AMBER Alerts on ATMs, a state in India developing an app for missing and abducted children, and the expansion of British missing persons investigations across borders. "AMBER Alert Briefs - Issue 3 2019" presents child-protection news clips from around the country. The clips address Texas' approval of alerts for missing adult and mentally ill veterans and the issuing of an AMBER Alert after a mom forgets leaving her children at daycare.
