This Special Edition of the Community-Based Crime Reduction Bulletin of the International Association of Chiefs of Police (IACP) contains a collection of resources for use in addressing the COVID-19 pandemic in grantee sites involved in innovations under the Community-Based Crime Reduction (CBCR) initiative.
Abstract
The IACP has also assembled a COVID-19 task force, which has created a clearinghouse for resources related to COVID-19. Additional resources published by this task force will be provided through the monthly bulletins as they become available. Resources are briefly described in this bulletin, and online access is provided for expanded descriptions of the resources. Among the topics addressed in the listed resources are ways police officers can protect their health during the pandemic, health and safety for families of law enforcement officers, types of emergency protective measures eligible under FEMA's Public Assistance Program, and data and updates available from the World Health Organization. Funding available under the FY 2020 Coronavirus Emergency Supplemental Funding Program is described. This funding opportunity supports local governments, states, and tribes in their efforts to prevent and respond to COVID-19. Allowable costs include overtime; equipment; hiring; supplies; training; travel expenses; and addressing the medical needs of inmates in state, local, and tribal prisons, jails, and detention centers.
