A SYSTEM FOR AUTOMATED VEHICLE MONITORING THAT RELIES ON EXISTING NAVIGATIONAL BEAMS FOR DETERMINING POSITION WAS TESTED IN THE FIELD; TEST REPORTS ARE PRESENTED AND PROBLEMS ARE IDENTIFIED.
Abstract
THE TESTS WERE CARRIED OUT IN PARTS OF THE AREA SERVICED BY THE CAPE FEAR (NC) - DANA (IN) - NANTUCKET (MA) LORANC TRIAD. THE TEST RESULTS WERE GENERALLY SATISFACTORY EXCEPT IN AREAS WHERE PROBLEMS WERE ENCOUNTERED IN RECEIVING ADEQUATE SIGNALS FOR PROPER RECEIVER OPERATION.
