Abstract
THE VIOLENT CRIMES COMPENSATION BOARD WAS ESTABLISHED IN 1972 TO PROVIDE FOR THE PAYMENT OF COMPENSATION TO INNOCENT PERSONS INJURED AND TO DEPENDENTS OF PERSONS KILLED AS A RESULT OF CERTAIN SERIOUS CRIMES, IN ATTEMPTS TO PREVENT THE COMMISSION OF CRIME, OR TO APPREHEND SUSPECTED CRIMINALS.
