Abstract
THIS ARTICLE BRIEFLY REVIEWS THE SECURITY AND PRIVACY PROVISIONS OF THE CRIME CONTROL ACT OF 1973 AND DESCRIBES THREE PROPOSED CRIMINAL JUSTICE PRIVACY BILLS. REGULATIONS FROM THE DEPARTMENT OF JUSTICE ORDER ON CRIMINAL JUSTICE INFORMATION SYSTEMS PERTAINING TO INFORMATION SECURITY AND PRIVACY ARE SUMMARIZED. THE FINDINGS OF A LEAA COMPENDIUM OF STATE LAWS GOVERNING THE SECURITY AND CONFIDENTIALITY OF CRIMINAL JUSTICE INFORMATION ARE ALSO OUTLINED.
