Annotation: THE NUMBER OF PICKPOCKET OFFENSES REPORTED IN FRANKFURT AM MAIN, WEST GERMANY, ROSE FROM 737 IN 1972 TO 949 IN 1973 AND TO 1687 IN 1974, CHIEFLY DUE TO THE ACTIVITIES OF YUGOSLAV PICKPOCKET GANGS USING ROUGH TACTICS.
Abstract: USUAL PICKPOCKET TACTICS AND TECHNIQUES AND THOSE OF THE YUGOSLAV GANGS ARE DESCRIBED. PHOTOGRAPHS ILLUSTRATING PICKPOCKET TECHNIQUES ARE INCLUDED. MEASURES TO BE TAKEN BY THE INDIVIDUAL TO PROTECT HIMSELF AGAINST PICKPOCKETS ARE ALSO DISCUSSED. ONE OF THE MOST EFFECTIVE PREVENTIVE MEASURES USED BY THE POLICE IS THE PUBLICATION IN THE PRESS OF PHOTOGRAPHS OF PICKPOCKETS WHO GET ARRESTED. --IN GERMAN
