Annotation: A NARRATIVE AND STATISTICAL REPORT PROVIDING BASIC INFORMATION ON JUVENILE COURT REFERRALS AND ACTIVITIES.
Abstract: FACTORS WHICH MAY HAVE AFFECTED JUVENILE COURT STATISTICS FOR THIS YEAR ARE FIRST DESCRIBED. THESE INCLUDE THE INITIATION OF A NEW CRIMINAL CODE FOR KENTUCKY, AND THE PROTEST DISORDERS OCCURRING AS A RESULT OF COURT ORDERED DESEGREGATION OF JEFFERSON COUNTY SCHOOLS. THIS REPORT PROVIDES DATA ON THE DEMOGRAPHIC CHARACTERISTICS OF JUVENILES REFERRED; SOURCES OF REFERRAL; MANNER OF HANDLING; REASON REFERRED; AND THE EDUCATION, LIVING ARRANGEMENT, AND SOCIAL STATUS OF REFERRED JUVENILES. IT WAS NOTED THAT THE GENERAL NUMBER OF REFERRALS FOR 1975 WAS VIRTUALLY THE SAME AS IN 1974.
