ANNUAL REPORT OF THE ACTIVITIES AND OPERATIONS OF THE CRIMINAL JUSTICE PLANNING COMMITTEE OF PHOENIX IN DETERMINING PROBLEMS OF MAJOR CONCERN TO THE COMMUNITY AND DEVELOPING PRIORITIES IN AREAS OF MUNICIPAL CONTROL.
Abstract
A BRIEF REVIEW OF PLANNING COMMITTEE EFFORTS SINCE ITS ORGANIZATION IN APRIL 1971 IS PROVIDED. INVESTIGATIVE AND PLANNING EFFORTS IN AREAS WHERE THE CITY HAS DIRECT RESPONSIBILITY INCLUDING POLICE, MUNICIPAL COURT, CITY PROSECUTOR, AND COMMUNITY-BASED PROBLEMS ARE DESCRIBED. LEAA (LAW ENFORCEMENT ASSISTANCE ADMINISTRATION) GRANTS AWARDED IN 1972 AND 1973 ARE LISTED AND WORK DONE ON THEM DESCRIBED. LEAA GRANT APPLICATIONS SUBMITTED IN 1974. APPENDIXES CONTAIN DEMOGRAPHIC STATISTICS TO SUPPLEMENT CRIME STATISTICS PRESENTED IN THE MAIN BODY OF THE REPORT, AS WELL AS AN EXCERPT FROM A REPORT ON A LOCAL ALCOHOLISM RECEPTION CENTER REPORT AND NEWSPAPER REPORTS ON OTHER PROJECTS.
