THE SELECTIONS ARE CONCENTRATED ON ENGLISH LANGUAGE PUBLICATIONS. THE SUBJECTS COVERED INCLUDE DIMENSIONS OF CRIME AND THE PROBLEM OF MEASUREMENT, CRIME IN ITS SOCIAL SETTING, CATEGORIES OF CRIME AND CRIMINALS, VIOLENCE AGAINST PERSONS, CIVIL DISORDERS, POLICE, AND PENAL SANCTIONS. SELECTIONS ARE ALSO INCLUDED ON PROBLEMS OF SENTENCING JUVENILE DELINQUENTS, PUNISHMENT AND TREATMENT, THE EFFECTS OF IMPRISONMENT, PRISONER'S RIGHTS, PAROLE, AND CRIME PREVENTION.
