Abstract
THIS REPORT IS FILED IN ACCORDANCE WITH PROVISIONS OF THE 1968 OMNIBUS CRIME CONTROL AND SAFE STREETS ACT, WHICH GOVERNS WIRETAP ACTIVITY. EACH WIRETAP, AUTHORIZED BY CITY, COUNTY, OR STATE OFFICIALS, IS LISTED BY CRIME CATEGORY. SOME CATEGORIES INCLUDE HOMICIDE, EXTORTION, GAMBLING, NARCOTICS, AND BRIBERY. SUPPORTING ARGUMENTS ARE GIVEN GOVERNING THE REASONS FOR SEEKING COURT APPROVAL FOR WIRETAPS. THE REPORT CONTAINS CORRESPONDENCE BETWEEN LOCAL, STATE, AND FEDERAL OFFICIALS ON SPECIFIC WIRETAPS, AS WELL AS SURVEILLANCE LOBS, AND PRACTICAL AIDS TO WIRETAP ACTIVITY.
