Abstract
IN ADDITION TO THE ELECTRONIC SURVEILLANCE OF ALL STATIONS AND CORRIDORS AND MULTIPLE ALARM POSTS, SPECIAL PORT AUTHORITY POLICE ARE ABLE TO CALL ON THE LOCAL POLICE TO ASSIST IN INJURY CASES AND TO PROVIDE NEEDED MANPOWER IN SPECIAL SITUATIONS. SPECIAL PORT AUTHORITY GUARDS PATROL THE SUBWAY SYSTEM DAY AND NIGHT TO SERVE AS A DETERRENT TO CRIME, POLICE DETECTIVES CONCENTRATE ON PICKPOCKET ACTIVITY, AND CRIMINAL POLICE INVESTIGATORS FOCUS ON PROFESSIONAL CRIMINALS. --IN FRENCH...ELW
