THIS ANNOTATED BIBLIOGRAPHY IS DIVIDED INTO FIVE SECTIONS AND IS DESIGNED TO BRIDGE THE GAP BETWEEN THE FIELDS OF RETARDATION AND CORRECTIONS. EACH SECTION IS COMPRISED OF SELECTED, ANNOTATED LISTINGS AND GENERAL LISTINGS.
Abstract
THE FIRST SECTION PROVIDES A GENERAL REVIEW OF LITERATURE IN THE FIELD OF RETARDATION AND GIVES THE READER A GENERAL ORIENTATION TO THE NATURE OF RETARDATION. SIMILARLY, THE SECOND SECTION REVIEWS LITERATURE IN THE FIELD OF CORRECTIONS IN ORDER TO PROVIDE A GENERAL OVERVIEW OF THE PROBLEMS AND ISSUES UNDER CONSIDERATION IN THAT FIELD. THE THIRD SECTION PROVIDES AN ANNOTATED BIBLIOGRAPHY OF THE MOST RECENT RESEARCH PROJECTS AND PROGRAMS DEALING WITH RETARDED PERSONS INVOLVED WITH THE CRIMINAL JUSTICE SYSTEM - INCLUDING RESEARCH OBJECTIVES, SUMMARIES OF FINDINGS AND RELATED LITERATURE. THE FOURTH SECTION REVIEWS THE AGENDA AND PAPERS (WHEN AVAILABLE) OF CONFERENCES WHICH HAVE ADDRESSED THE ISSUE. THE FINAL SECTION OF THE ANNOTATED BIBLIOGRAPHY IS A GENERAL COMPILATION OF LITERATURE WHICH DEALS WITH THE RETARDED OFFENDER AND THE CRIMINAL JUSTICE SYSTEM.
