REPRESENTATIVES OF SEVEN FEDERAL AGENCIES PROVIDE STATEMENTS ON SOME OF THE EXISTING LEGISLATION TO COMBAT THE PROBLEM OF SCHOOL CRIME AS WELL AS SOME PLANS FOR THE FUTURE.
Abstract
ON-GOING PROGRAMS SPONSORED BY THE NATIONAL CENTER FOR EDUCATION STATISTICS, NATIONAL INSTITUTE OF EDUCATION, NATIONAL INSTITUTE ON ALCOHOL ABUSE AND ALCOHOLISM, NATIONAL INSTITUTE ON DRUG ABUSE, LAW ENFORCEMENT ASSISTANCE ADMINISTRATION, NATONAL INSTITUTE OF MENTAL HEALTH, AND THE OFFICES OF YOUTH DEVELOPMENT AND HUMAN DEVELOPMENT ARE DISCUSSED. THE PROBLEMS OF DRUG ABUSE, ALCOHOL ABUSE, CHILD NEGLECT AND ABUSE, RUNAWAY YOUTH, AND YOUTH GANGS ARE PAID PARTICULAR ATTENTION AS THEY INDICATE THE AREAS OF EMPHASIS FOR SOME OF THE AGENCIES IN THE NEAR FUTURE.(AUTHOR ABSTRACT MODIFIED)...EB
