THIS CHAPTER HIGHLIGHTS THE MORE PROBLEMATIC ASPECTS OF SEXISM IN THE JUVENILE JUSTICE SYSTEM BY EXAMINING LAWS WHICE ARE ENFORCED IN AN ATTEMPT TO SAVE THE VIRTUE OF FEMALE ADOLESCENT OFFENDERS.
Abstract
STATUTORY AND CASE LAW ARE EXAMINED WITH RESPECT TO JURISDICTIONS, LEGAL AUTHORITY, AND SEX-LINKED DIFFERENTIATION. THE IMPACT OF EQUAL RIGHTS LEGISLATION IS ALSO CONSIDERED.
