THESE 28 PAPERS, DELIVERED AT A CONFERENCE OF PERSONS ACTIVE IN VOCATIONAL EDUCATION IN CORRECTIONAL INSTITUTIONS, ARE LARGELY BASED ON CASE HISTORIES AND ACTUAL EXPERIENCE. AFTER A GENERAL OVERVIEW OF THE NEED FOR PLANNING AND ACCOUNTABILITY FOR VOCATIONAL EDUCATION IN CORRECTIONS, CHANGES NOW POSSIBLE UNDER THE COMPREHENSIVE PLANNING PROVISION OF THE EDUCATIONAL AMENDMENTS OF 1976 ARE DISCUSSED. TWO PAPERS DISCUSS THE EQUAL OPPORTUNITY PROVISIONS OF THIS AMENDMENT AND THEIR IMPACT ON VOCATIONAL EDUCATION IN WOMEN'S INSTITUTIONS. FUNDING, PLANNING, ACCOUNTABILITY, AND STANDARDS ARE COVERED. TWO EXPERT PAPERS DETAIL THE USE OF INFORMATION RETRIEVAL SYSTEMS AND OTHER TECHNOLOGY IN THE CORRECTIONAL VOCATIONAL EDUCATION SETTING.
